Mr. Van Dyke has more than 25 years of experience in the field of civil engineering. He has particular expertise in all phases of the planning, design, and construction of streets, sanitary sewer, and water systems. He is responsible for the day to day progress of assembling construction & design drawings on AutoCAD. He has performed in various stages of design engineering, including design of storm drain systems, site grading, water and sewer systems, subdivisions, transportation, and underground storage tanks.
Mr. Van Dyke is highly proficient in AutoCAD and LDD software. He is familiar with local design standards and specifications. He has experience with transportation, traffic safety, access management, site design, and land use planning and permitting. Some of the types of projects that Mr. Van Dyke has accomplished include: • Land Planning & Design Planning, design, and construction management of residential subdivisions, apartment and condominium developments, small commercial projects, heavy and marine construction projects, and industrial developments. • Surface Water Mr. Van Dyke has extensive experience in the application of computer modeling techniques to the design and analysis of stormwater systems. Mr. Van Dyke has worked mostly in the Greater Portland and Sacramento areas where storm water impact mitigation is a major element of any public or private development project. He has experience with the application of best management practices for maintenance of surface water quality such as swales, wetland treatment ponds and containment systems. He has applied U.S. Soil Conservation Service hydrographic methods and stage/storage relationships to the design of detention facilities for projects ranging from small commercial sites to two hundred acre mixed use residential projects. Gary has attended National Flood Insurance training workshops where topics such as determination of flood elevations in approximate ‘A’ zone areas, HEC – RAS modeling, elevation certification and flood mapping issues were addressed. • Water Systems Management and Design Mr. Van Dyke has had extensive experience in the management of small, community utility companies. He has designed and managed the utility rehabilitation of a 400-acre World War II shipyard in Vancouver Washington, designed a five-mile water service extension for a prison in Eastern Oregon and participated in the design of several large-scale residential and commercial developments. |
